PENTAGRAM, REMPHAN, AND THE STAR OF DAVID
Lets clear something up here because there are too many people on the Internet who apparently don’t know what they are talking about and want to demonize the current most prominent symbol of Israel.
The “Star of Remphan” is an eight-pointed star. It is also said to be associated with the Roman god Saturn and the Babylonian goddess Ishtar. Regardless, it is NOT the six-pointed star used to symbolize Israel. It should also be noted that this eight-pointed star is used in connection with the pagan/Wiccan calendar to show the eight “Sabats” of the year, which includes Yule (what Christians call “Christmas”), Eostre (what Christians call “Easter”), and Samhain (what Christians call “Halloween”).
The Pentagram, and I have no clue why I even need to educate people on this one, is a five-pointed star. In occult and Satan worship the star is inverted and displayed inside of a circle, often with the “Baphomet” goat-head displayed inside of it—a regular five-point star not in a circle and not inverted is just a star. It is probably the most well-known occult symbol, rivaled perhaps only by the inverted “Christian cross”. Anyone who thinks the Star of David symbol is a pentagram is clearly totally clueless. Think! Pente=Five, like in PENTECOST, the “Feast of Weeks”, where 50 days are counted from the Day of First Fruits to Shavuot, the Day of Pentecost.
The Star of David, or Magen David, is a simple design, a six-pointed star made by putting two triangles together. It is such a simple design it is found in many ancient cultures totally unrelated to each other and is perhaps the easiest star to teach a child to draw. For the most part, ancient use of this symbol was purely decorative with no religious significance.
Yes, Wiccans have adopted the Star of David, but in this case this is no more of a concern than Satanists adopting the cross (inverted). There is not one shred of evidence that the use of the Magen David by Israel and the Jewish people was appropriated from any “pagan” religion, and it most certainly IS NOT the Star of Remphan or a Pentagram.
Now, can we PLEASE stop all this ridiculous nonsense and Internet satire?
