- Isaiah 11:1: Yeshua is called “a Branch out of the root of Jesse”. וְנֵ֖צֶר
Yeshua descended genetically from David through the non-ruling Davidic line of Mary, but the virgin-conceived boy was legally Joseph’s son.
The Root of Jesse
1And there shall come forth a rod out of the stem of Jesse, and a Branch shall grow out of his roots:
2And the spirit of Yahweh shall rest upon him, the spirit of wisdom and understanding, the spirit of counsel and might, the spirit of knowledge and of the fear of the LORD;
3And shall make him of quick understanding in the fear of the LORD: and he shall not judge after the sight of his eyes, neither reprove after the hearing of his ears:
4But with righteousness shall he judge the poor, and reprove with equity for the meek of the earth: and he shall smite the earth with the rod of his mouth, and with the breath of his lips shall he slay the wicked.
5And righteousness shall be the girdle of his loins, and faithfulness the girdle of his reins.
- The Gospel of Matthew explains that the title Nazarene is derived from the prophecy “He will be called a Nazorean..” same Hebrew root , Nazareth, Nazarene, Netzer – all leads to the BRANCH from the hebrew root נֵ֖צֶר Nun Tzadic Resh
The letter NUN has a numerical value of fifty, and is the symbol of faithfulness. There are two forms of the letter NUN: the bent one and the elongated one. The long NUN is only used at the end of a word. The Hebrew word for soul (neshamah), and candle (ner) both begin with the letter NUN. The Jubilee year – occurring after every seventh Sabbath year, thus, every 50 years – is an economic, cultural, environmental and communal reset, when the land and people rest, and all those who are in slavery are set free to return to their communities. Yes, Jesus Christ is our Jubilee
The Hebrew letter Tzadik (צַדִּיק) symbolizes righteousness and is associated with the Messiah: RighteousnessThe letter Tzadik represents a righteous person, or tzaddik, who is just, loving, and honest with their conscience. Tzadikim are said to reflect the divine image and are considered to be God’s messengers on Earth.
The Hebrew letter resh (ר) a few meanings, but one is strikingly Messianic: – Head The letter resh is thought to come from a pictogram of a human head. It is symbolic of the head, which is considered the most important part of the body and the source of intellect, reason, and wisdom
100 BC, a few Jewish families from the line of David returned to Israel and established the town of Nazareth. They settled in Nazareth largely on account of persecution from Herod. They may have chosen this name as a way of articulating their hope that one day the Messiah would come to Israel.
- Isaiah 4:2: Yeshua is called “the Branch of the Lord” and is described as both God and human.
“In that day shall the branch of the LORD be beautiful and glorious, and the fruit of the earth shall be excellent and comely for them that are escaped of Israel..”
- Jeremiah 23:5 and 33:15: These passages refer to “a Branch of righteousness” of Davidic lineage.
Jeremiah 23:5Behold, the days come, saith the LORD, that I will raise unto David a righteous Branch, and a King shall reign and prosper, and shall execute judgment and justice in the earth.
6In his days Judah shall be saved, and Israel shall dwell safely: and this is his name whereby he shall be called, THE LORD OUR RIGHTEOUSNESS.
Jeremiah 33:14Behold, the days come, saith the LORD, that I will perform that good thing which I have promised unto the house of Israel and to the house of Judah. 15In those days, and at that time, will I cause the Branch of righteousness to grow up unto David; and he shall execute judgment and righteousness in the land. 16In those days shall Judah be saved, and Jerusalem shall dwell safely: and this is the name wherewith she shall be called, The LORD our righteousness. 17For thus saith the LORD; David shall never want a man to sit upon the throne of the house of Israel
- Revelation 22:16: Yeshua affirms, “I am the Root and the Offspring of David”.
12And, behold, I come quickly; and my reward is with me, to give every man according as his work shall be. 13I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end, the first and the last.
14Blessed are they that do his commandments, that they may have right to the tree of life, and may enter in through the gates into the city. 15For without are dogs, and sorcerers, and whoremongers, and murderers, and idolaters, and whosoever loveth and maketh a lie.
16I Jesus have sent mine angel to testify unto you these things in the churches. I am the root and the offspring of David, and the bright and morning star.
What can we as Christians be assured of when we speak of the lineage of our LORD Yeshua Messiah?
WE can count on the validity of the claims made about Jesus, that he has every legal right to assume the throne over not only all the commonwealth of Israel, As Paul called Christians “the ISRAEL OF GOD,” IN Galatians 6:16 ** Peace and mercy to all who follow this rule—to the Israel of God.**
WE can rest assured that our Jubilee day (NUN) is coming with the hastening return of the LORD JESUS.
WE can further count on RIGHTEOUSNESS (Tzadikim – righteous) are given dominion filling the entire earth and heavens, as Jesus Christ establishes his eternal kingdom and makes the earth his Footstool –
We can acknowledge Jesus Christ as the HEAD (RESH) of the church –
Colossians 1:18: Paul describes Yeshua as the head of the Assembly and the body, and says that the Assembly is dependent on Christ.
Ephesians 1:22-23: Scripture says that God gave Yeshua as head over all things to the Assembly.
Ephesians 5:23: The apostle Paul says that Messiah Yeshua is the head of the Assembly
BUT! AND NOT JUST THE CHURCH, the truth is THE ENTIRE EARTH IS MADE his “footstool” in Isaiah 66:1, which states “Heaven is my throne, and the earth is my footstool,” this signifies Yah’s supreme authority over the entire world, with the earth being considered as something beneath his feet, symbolizing his complete dominion over it; All which is applied to Jesus as well due to his divine nature.
As we look into this season of remembering divine mission of Yeshua Messiah, we all groan and long for that bold proclamation recounted from the book of Revelations
Revelation 11:15 “”The kingdom of the world has become the kingdom of our Lord and of his Messiah, and he shall reign forever and ever.”
Amen.
