Response to Tom Martincic at eliyah.com video on the book of Enoch

Right out of the gate Tom admits he has NOT done the due diligence on Jasher or Jubilees claiming he got offended at something and stopped investigating. I can only think that Tom only lightly treated his copy of Enoch 1 (included in the Ethiopian Canon) by his cursory comments he deigns to bequeath a book meriting far more respect. Further,  he kvetches about Enoch talking about angels? Billy Graham did too in his book “Angels: God’s Secret Agents” ISBN-10 ‏ : ‎ 0385113072 . Tom references col 2:18 “Let no man beguile you of your reward in a voluntary humility and worshipping of angels, intruding into those things which he hath not seen, vainly puffed up by his fleshly mind,” – which the context clearly shows idol worship, which are backed by the very fallen angels Enoch I discourses about! The holidays and sabbaths being referenced are pagan days which we know demons are behind. Tom seems to take issue with men talking to angels hoping they make petition to Heaven unto Yah Almighty. But isn’t that the role Yeshua plays for us today when we pray in His name giving us access into the heavenly courts? We have a greater Name and high priest than what was revealed to men back then since Yeshua was NOT REVELEALED TO MANKIND BEFORE THE FLOOD! Yes Enoch was raised to the sky (that is all heavens means anyway) and it seems Tom forgets about Elijah the prophet 2 Kings 2:11 taken up into heaven in a chariot of fire. The two scriptures can be easily reconciled if we understand what Messiah meant by raised up into heaven is the ascension throne concept (not strictly a visitation, lest Paul also should be found at fault in Tom’s mind 2 Corinthians 12).  It seems Tom has a problem with the notion that Enoch was taken – understood as not facing death – but remember that Messiah intimated similar of John didn’t he? “If I want him to remain alive until I return, what is that to you?”  John 21:22 I think we can reconcile those surface discrepancies by suggesting that it may be John and Enoch who are the two witnesses who do eventually face death (and then are resurrected) as spoken in Revelation. The 500 year thing could be a mistranslation or the account of Enoch in Genesis 5 states that he lived 365 years. This account also mentions that Enoch “walked with Yah” and was “taken” by Yah, which is often interpreted as him being transferred to heaven alive where who knows what time frame elapsed and whether or not he visited again or not like Messiah when he first came out of the grave and told Mary not to touch him because he had not ascended to heaven (as a wave offering presumably – 1 Corinthians 15:20) and yet must have return since he had doubting Thomas thrust his hand in our Master’s side to prove He was not a ghost. More triflings from Tom is all that is. Enoch could be giving a general statement about all men being burned up like Isaiah that claims few men be left. Not a biggie either. No it is not necromancy for Noah to appeal to his grandfather Enoch since Enoch in proper understanding was not dead. Enoch was given special dispensation until the end-time two witnesses are sent to earth to testify as to Yeshua Messiah and the wickedness of the world. There is indeed LIGHT in Enoch I because without it we would be stumbling around like the racist knuckleheads claiming there were no giants in the earth and that the sons of God are Seth’s line and black people are Cain’s line from Satan having sex with Eve and all manner of other balderdash. Tom either doesn’t consider that one OR he may indeed subscribe to the abominable and heretical serpent seed doctrine – I AM NOT SURE. Tom slams the Catholics but seems to forgets one very important detail that the NT implies in 2 Timothy 1:16-18 is often interpreted by Catholics as an implied prayer for the dead. Specifically, Paul prays, “May the Lord grant mercy to the house of Onesiphorus, and may the Lord grant to him to find mercy from the Lord on that day,” but the only problem is it’s not explicitly stated that Onesiphorus is dead, the context and the phrasing of the prayer, particularly the reference to “that day,” which could be interpreted as judgment day, suggest a prayer for his well-being after death. Additionally, Paul later greets “the house of Onesiphorus” (2 Timothy 4:19) but doesn’t greet Onesiphorus himself, further implying his potential passing. So, another nothing-burger because ENOCH is not DEAD! Enoch is being held until the judgement of the earth! Yes Azazel brought massive sin to the earth – but acknowledging that doesn’t negate the fall of Adam and Eve either. I wonder if Tom has figured out why the high priest pronounces לעֲזָאזֵל over the scape goat before the servants of the high priest throws it off a cliff? Just a simple coincidence (undoubtedly) in Tom’s mind. Funny how technical difficulties happened right after that part too (maybe a message from Heaven about this errant thinking there?) testing 1,23…*redundancies ensuing* . Ok, yes technology does ENHANCE the world’s ability to sin. It is perfectly plausible that the watchers wanting to ingratiate themselves with Yah and helped Noah build the ark as even ancient civilizations like Egypt and  Sumer and so on have these stories of the fallen ones assisting in projects small men could not have done by themselves i.e. Gilgamesh stories Flash Gordon storyline fame, pre-flood highly technological civilizations like Atlantis and Lemuria – we also have to consider the sheer dimensions of the ark, Its size may have been much much larger than modern seminarians postulate because dimensions are all guesswork anyway pre-flood as even mankind was taller – all this we can prove.  I would like to see Tom give us the English equivalent of a Cubit based upon the larger dimensions of mankind before the flood where its postulated there was twice the air pressure and about 30 percent more oxygen in the air – leaving behind massive creatures remains that could not have survived today in our current atmosphere – think dimensions of nose and lung capacity required for such a massive creature to live (requiring far more air pressure and oxygen for those dimensions i.e. brontosaurus and others) – so much there Tom assumes that could simply be a lack of knowledge about events and conditions before the flood. Again, no direct contradiction so far just more information offered in Enoch. The tree of knowledge of good and evil may be referencing technological, elements, cosmos, scientific knowledge that can be used to increase life or destroy life – THOSE are things infant-creations should not have possessed as Angels do (beings living billions of years old – at least implied) which is why Adam and Eve were kicked out of the garden or what they learned from the tree would destroy them.  The tree of life can also be symbolized as Messiah, purity, childlike faith and obedience. Tom’s ethnocentrism against a world church is showing in his claims against Enoch I. The pen and ink thing simply means that pen and ink allows knowledge like Atom bombs to be created BASED on the writings and mathematical projections of earlier scientists – similar to that scene in Jurassic park where the character Ian Malcolm talks about this (faulty) process of building on the shoulders of other scientists to create the dinosaurs without empirical first hand testing – pen and ink is idiomatic of this dangerous process as Enoch gives us a warning of- so Tom is making more simple comparisons that are a nothing burger in reality. Enoch I gives us the reality of what other nations mythology CONFIRMS! This is further proof in the authenticity of Enoch, NOT A PROOF against as Tom misunderstands. Also, how is Jude being quoted without a book of Enoch and why or what reference would Jude have if indeed Tom is right to suggest Messiah gave secret story-time to Jude? Where is THAT in the gospels? Where is this other prophet getting their information if this tidbit came from some unknown source? Enoch events happened BEFORE THE FLOOD! Either there is a book detailing these things safeguarded throughout history OR Jude should not be included in the bible, if it so be that the only record of Enoch -the book – is False. Isaiah talks about cleansing the earth with fire which may refer to nuclear fire but Zechariah does imply some survivors will be alive – think shelters deep in the earth or in mountains (Isaiah 2:19 “And they shall go into the holes of the rocks, and into the caves of the earth, for fear of the LORD, and for the glory of his majesty, when he arises to shake terribly the earth.”) Measurements of giants are again on a different ratio before the flood with different atmospheric conditions. Tom misunderstands this fact. Think Japanese Dr. Kei Mori’s experiment when he setup a cherry tomato plant to grow in a special pressurized CO2 chamber  (around 22 PSI) and removed UV light from the sun by filtering through fiber optics.  this tomato plant grew to 30 foot tall and produced something like 13000 tomatoes over the course of it’s 6+ year. Imagine a man under those conditions and THEN add the dimension of the Nephilim giants under those conditions. Tom is using the “sons of Elohim” interchangeably and thus errantly under wildly different contexts to debunk giants now? Even though every culture in the earth has old stories about giants and even a flood myth? Well, the silliness coming from that man is enough for me to stop this video. I think we can see that Tom is way off on Enoch. I would like to hear his discourse on Jasher and Jubilees, if he would ever take the time out of his busy musings to address such. Thanks for reading!  br. Gregory
